Profit per truck: see what each of your trucks really makes

Two trucks on the same lanes rarely make the same money. One burns more fuel, one sits longer, one is in the shop. Averaged across the fleet you never see it. Fleetchart ranks every truck by what it actually kept.

What it does

  • Every truck, ranked

Your trucks from best to worst by profit per mile, after their own costs, for any dates you pick.

  • The numbers behind each one

Revenue, costs, miles and loads for every truck, so you can see why it ranks where it does.

  • Your real cost per mile

What a mile costs your whole fleet, every cost in, right next to the ranking. A load paying less than that loses money.

  • Fleet costs kept separate

Insurance and office costs that belong to no one truck are shown on their own line, so each truck's number is honest.

  • Moving days and idle days

With Motive connected, each truck shows how many days it moved and how many it sat, right next to its profit.

  • A warning when the ranking can't be trusted

If a lot of your costs aren't on any truck yet, Fleetchart says so above the list instead of showing margins that look too good.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Add your loads

Drop in each rate con and the load fills itself out, with its truck.

  2. Step 2

    Put costs on trucks

Fuel, repairs and the rest go on the truck that ran up the cost.

  3. Step 3

    Read the ranking

See which trucks carry the fleet and which ones need a hard look.

Questions

Why rank by profit per mile instead of total profit?
A truck that drives more miles will win on total profit even if it keeps less on each mile. Per mile shows which truck actually earns better.
Where do insurance and other fleet costs go?
On their own line. They are in your fleet total and your all-in cost per mile, but they aren't spread across trucks, because that would only blur each truck's real number.
Do I need an ELD for this?
No. Profit per truck works from your loads and costs. Connecting Motive adds idle days and the miles each truck actually drove.
